Six sistrs Dolly O'Nion, Marge Bradford, Alice Wood, Lucy Ebner, Jean Olmsted, and Jessie Bainbridge. One brother William Godsil. He was a past grand knight of the Knights of Columbus and a veteran of World War II. He was a 5th ward alderman in the city of Galesburg Il. at one time, and operated a Standard Oil Service Station at West South St. and Academy St. in Galesburg. He was also a State Oil Inspector and a Driver License Examiner in Galesburg
