Jim died in Danville Veteran's Hospital.
He was born to James and Hilda (Nelson) Norburg Godsil.
He marred Mary Jane Ferrara in 1938. They had four sons James M., William J., Donald L., and John R. Godsil, and one Daughter, Sallie (Godsil) Conlin. Six sistrs Dolly O'Nion, Marge Bradford, Alice Wood, Lucy Ebner, Jean Olmsted, and Jessie Bainbridge. One brother William Godsil. He was a past grand knight of the Knights of Columbus and a veteran of World War II. He was a 5th ward alderman in the city of Galesburg Il. at one time, and operated a Standard Oil Service Station at West South St. and Academy St. in Galesburg. He was also a State Oil Inspector and a Driver License Examiner in Galesburg
He had brothers, John , William, and Eddie Godsil all since deceased.
