Margrett had an abusive step-father. Still living at home in her early
twenties, a normal situation in that era, Margrett asked her mother's
permission to visit a friend. When she returned her step-father was angry
that she had gone, and struck her in the head. Margrett decided to leave, and
the Bostick family took her in. Soon after Margrett was married to John
Thomas Cantrell. Her eldest daughter Minnie married Lee William Bostick, son
of the folks Margrett stayed with after leaving home.
