He was a native and lifelong resident of St. Augustine and son of the late Charles and Geraldine Ortagus. He was a descendent of the Florida Pioneer lines from Minorca, which settled in St. Augustine in 1700's. Ralph formerly owned and operated a local restaurant, Ralph and Linda's Place.
A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Ralph served during Vietnam War. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion and the Fraternal Order of Eagle Aerie Lodge #4256. He was also a church member of Turning Point at Calvary.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at Turning Point at Calvary. A visitation was at 9 a.m. will precede the services.

He was survived by his wife, Linda, St. Augustine; two sons, Ralph W. Ortagus Jr., West Virginia, and Anthony Ortagus, St. Augustine; daughter, Christy; sister, Barbara "Bobbi" Hall, St. Augustine; brother, Russell "Rusty" Ortagus, Miami; and several grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Smith and Linda Devoe.
