With much love, Lois bids goodbye to so many loved ones who have made this mortal journey a joyous one. Her zest for life began August 28, 1928 as the third daughter of Leslie Elmer Flowers and Mary Tentia Holmgren in Salt Lake City.
After struggling for many years with diabetes, she opted to return, August 28, 1995, to her eternal companion, William Emil Affeltranger, who predeceased his loved one in 1988.
Lois is survived by her children (and spouses), Leslie (Richard), Mark (Carol), Deborah (Peter), and Eric (Alison). She is also survived by her seven loving sisters, June, Violet, Betty, Donna, LaNae, Merle and Linda. She also predeceases 21 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Highlights and accomplishments of her life include: Attended business college in California, where she met her husband. Married William Emil Affeltranger, December 8, 1949 in Salt Lake City; later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Brought four children into the world. Worked 30 years as a civil servant as an office manager for the USAF. Lived and raised her family in the Panama Canal Zone from 1951 to 1981. Returned to Clearfield, Utah in 1981, until her death. While in Utah for these last 14 years, she made many choice and wonderful friends.
Lois will be remembered as a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her beliefs in Christ-like living were forever demonstrated in her deeds. She was perfectly generous with all whom she came in contact. Her persona is exemplified by one of her favorite hymns "Have I Done Any Good?" (Hymn #223). We all bid you - - - Lois, Mother, Sister, Aunt, Grandmother and friend - - - farewell, until we meet again. Bill bids you, his sweet wife, hello forever in his arms.
