Born in Poland, Brother Salvator joined the Capuchin Province of St. Joseph in 1894, and labored faithfully and conscientiously through his life. The combination of a somewhat disagreeable natural temperament, physical ailments and lack of proficiency in both English and German, made living with him at times, a challenge. Nonetheless he was a very kind and considerable Brother. During recreations, when the other Brothers had laid aside their work for the day, Salvator would busy himself knitting woolen socks for the benefit of the Capuchin Brothers. Salvator was also accustomed to pray the Rosary several times a day. He died in Appleton on January 10, 1924, aged 66, after 29 years of religious life.
