The First Metropolitan Archbishop of Seoul, Monsignor Paul Marie Kinam Ro was born in Ron Tjai, South Korea, on December 22, 1907, and was ordained to the priesthood at 27 years of age on October 26, 1930.

Follolwing the resignation of Monsignor Andrien-Jean Larribeau MEP., Father Paul Marie was named as his successor as Apostolic Vicar of Seoul, at the early age of 39, by Pope Pius XII. He received his episcopal consecration with the Titular See of Colbasa from the named Bishop Larribeau on December 20, 1942.

On March 10, 1962, when the Holy See elevated the Vicariate of Seoul to a Metropolitan See, Monsignor Paul Marie became its First Metropolitan Archbishop.

Resigning the Pastoral Government of his See at 64 years of age on March 23, 1967, Monsignor Paul Marie was named Archbishop of the Titular See of Tituli in Proconsulari. He was succeeded in office by Monsignor Stephen Kim Sou-hwan, who in 1969, would become South Korea's first Cardinal.

Archbishop Kinam Ro passed away on June 25, 1984, aged 81, and lies interred inside the Priests' Cemetery of Yongin.
