Québec born Gabriel de Lorimier joined the White Fathers at St-Martin in 1945 and was ordained priest on February 2, 1950 in Eastview. Moving to Tanzania the following years, he rendered services in Karema, Kala, Ulumi, Sumbawanga, Kaengesa, Chiwanda, Congé, Mpanda, Dar-es-Salaam, Tabora and Makokola. Curate in Arskenville, Australia, between 1974 and 1978, his ministry in Tanzania including among others the curateship of Tabora and a period as a parish priest in Makokola. Returning back to his native country in 2004, he died at 90 years of age at the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Sherbrooke. His cremains were interred in the plot of the Missionaries of Africa at the Cimetière St-Antoine of Lennoxville.
