He is survived by 5 children Kenneth Bell of Seminole, Florida, Bernard Bell of West Portsmouth, Ohio, Barbara Lawson of Alexandria, Virginia, Betty Lott of Portsmouth, Ohio and Judy Lawson of Jonestown, Pennsylvania; 1 brother Richard "Dick" Bell of Monticello, Kentucky; 1 sister Frances Hawkins of Wheelersburg, Ohio; 23 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death is one son Kirby Bell; 1 sister Lena Denney Beaty; 1 grandchild; and 1 great grandchild.
He had accepted Christ as his Savior and was a faithful member of the Central Union Baptist Church where he served as Deacon and worked in the Sunday School.
Funeral services were held Saturday, December 4, 1999 at the Central Union Baptist Church with Brother Matthew Daulton and Brother Dennis Parrigin officiating. Burial was in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
