DEAN LESTER BOOZELL
Dean Lester Boozell, son of Gideon and Zora Boozell was born June 15, 1918 in Lucas County, Iowa. He passed away at the Lucas County Health Center, September 19, 2010 at the age of 92 years, three months and four days.
Dean was preceded in death by wives, Leila, Susie and Eva, and son, Gail Dwight Boozell. Also preceding Dean were brother, Raymond and sister, Ruth.
Dean is survived by son, Richard (Janet), of Chariton, step-daughter Harriett Dorsey and sister Neva Mary Adams of Norwalk. Dean is also survived by a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren, and many friends and relatives.
Dean was a very active and long time farmer south of Chariton. As a resident of the Chariton Nursing and Rehab Center, he continued to be interested in what the crops looked like. He was able to use his favorite tractor that he purchased new in 1957, for the annual Antique Tractor Plow day in November of 2009. Anything to do with farming or livestock was his favorite thing to do.
Dean had a special relationship with good friend, Loudene Penny for the past few years and they enjoyed each other's company for many activities together.
Services were held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday September 22, 2010, at Fielding Funeral Home. Family met with friends one hour prior to the service. Interment was in the Chariton Cemetery. Officiating was Pastor Allen Wiese. Pallbearers were Rick Boozell, Curt Boozell, Dan Warren, Don Charleston, Travis Boozell and Jake Warren. Honorary Pallbearers were Gene Narber, Kevin Luedke, Don VanderHart, Warren Wallace, Larry Shriver, Ron Christensen and Connie Smith.
