Marilyn R. Coats, the daughter of Louis C. and Ruth R. Harley, was born in Chambers, Nebraska on July 9, 1927 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on October 26, 2002, at the age of 75.

She graduated from Chambers High School and attended business school for one year.

Marilyn was united in marriage to Dewey E. Struebing on May 9, 1947. She worked at the Cornhusker Army Ammunition Plant and Missouri Valley Construction in Grand Island.

She married Warren G. Coats on January 11, 1975, at Grand Island. Marilyn was a secretary for the Giltner Public School system for 19 years. Warren passed away on November 30, 1987.

Her two greatest passions were spending time with her family and reading. She enjoyed the Ladies Birthday Club and playing cards. Marilyn was a member of the United Methodist Church in Giltner.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Warren; son, Dewey I. Struebing; one sister, Chloe Ellen McKay and two brothers, Gordon and Richard Harley.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are her three sons: Gary Struebing of Omaha, Larry Struebing of Baltimore, Maryland, and Timothy and Michelle Struebing of Lincoln; 2 step-daughters, Delores and Dave Leschinsky of Fort Collins, Colorado and Donna and Cecil Boelts of Yuma, Arizona; 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
