Famous magician, used the stage-name "Edward Maro" / "Maro the Magician" / "Professor Maro".

He was also a noted banjo & saxophone player, and an artist.

NOTE: I used the birthdate which is on his Death Certificate / Undertaker's Certificate. Other sources list September 9, 1869; & September, 1867. The birthplace is from "Who's Who in the Lyceum", Edited by A. Augustus Wright, c 1906, Published by Pearson Brothers, Philadelphia - Page 136 - Entry: Maro, E. This source lists his birthdate as September 25, 1868.

NOTE: Other sources list his birthplace as Montpelier.

His parents were Truman Best & Addie Peakes. (Both were born in Vermont.) (Source: Walter's Death Certificate.)

His wife was Allie M. Kaiser. She used the stage-name "Allie Maro". They were married on April 3, 1899. (Source of marriage date: "Who's Who in the Lyceum", c 1906)

Walter's cause of death was Typhoid Fever, which he caught in Florida. (Source: Death Certificate)

The family plot is marked by a large boulder. There are three smaller boulders next to it, marking his grave, and those of his mother, & wife.
