The daughter of Samuel Bailey and Mary Walker Bailey, she was born in Virginia, now, Rock, West Virginia.
She was the granddaughter of Richard & Isabel Ferguson Bailey.

Sister of Chrispianos Walker Bailey, Nancy Bailey Bailey, Jamison Walker Bailey, Addison Crockett Bailey, Charles Walker Bailey, Louisa Bailey Day Bailey, and John Walker Bailey.

She married Thompson Minor before 1846.

Two of thier sons died as children, Benjamin Minor in 1857, and Joseph Minor in 1867 (county ledger entries, burial locations not known). The Minor house existed until 2000/2001.
The name of Thompson Minor, born about 1823 & a son of John & Dicy Garten Minor - is in the roster list for the 151st Regiment Virginia Militia as a Private. He enlisted on the same day at the same location as Thompson Bailey. Mr. Minor was killed in action, in Maryland, on 7/9/1864.

Isabel was a Confederate Widow at age 34. A few months prior to this, her brother Floyd was wounded at the battle of Cloyd's Mountain.

Her second husband was Thompson P. Bailey, the son of George C. Bailey and Frances Thompson Bailey; whom she married on 27 November 1866, in Mercer county, the ceremony performed by Joseph Wright (her uncle, husband of Cynthia Walker). Both gave status as "Widowed", both were born in and residents of Mercer county.
Her name on county records usually is listed as Elizabeth. Her son Joseph died soon after this marriage - the ledger entry reads that Elizabeth and Thompson Bailey are his parents. The exact date of death for Mary Jane (Nancy) Fain Bailey, the first wife of Thompson Bailey, is unknown.
Many of Elizabeth's family moved away. She died just a few weeks before husband Thompson Bailey. Her birth date seems to conflict with her age as listed on some of the census records.
