WATSONTOWN - Jeffrey Scott Ellis, 66, a lifelong resident of Watsontown, died of a heart attack on Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2010, at Evangelical Community Hospital in Lewisburg.
Born Nov. 1, 1943, he was the son of the late Albert and Ruth (Stahl) Ellis.
Immediately following graduation from Warrior Run High School in 1961, Mr. Ellis enlisted in the Army and served until his retirement in 1983. During his service, he was stationed in Korea, Japan, Germany and Vietnam as well as a variety of posts in the United States.
Following his retirement, Mr. Ellis attended Bloomsburg University and earned a bachelor's degree in sociology in 1986.
He was a life member of the Muffly-Huff Post 8206 VFW, Turbotville, where he served on the Board of Directors and participated in parade functions and funeral honor guard details.
He is survived by a cousin, Gregory Adams, of Gaithersburg, Md.
Burial arrangements are pending and under the care of Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, 308 Main St. Watsontown.
