Loving husband, father and grandfather, Daniel M. Eichenlaub, 69, of 67 Turner Hill Road, Muncy, passed away Sunday, Aug. 19, 2012, at Sun Home Hospice Care Center in Sunbury. He was born Oct. 12, 1942, in Williamsport, a son of Milnor and Rose M. Snyder Eichenlaub.

Dan retired as a supervisor for Hannan Construction. He had also worked for Lundy's Construction, and many other regional companies, and also developed Crestwood View housing development in Muncy. He was a veteran of Vietnam serving in the U.S. Marine Corp., and was a member of the Edward J. Smith V.F.W. Post 3428 in Muncy. He had been active in the Muncy Jaycees. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and finding his peace in nature.

He is survived by his wife, the former Barbara A. Jacobs, with whom he would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on October 13. He is also survived by two sons, Aaron C. of Reading, Pa., and Brian D. of Montoursville; a daughter, Desiree R. Eichenlaub of Muncy; three brothers, John L. (Linda) of Milton, James A. of Hughesville and Benton L. (Edith) of Muncy; a sister, Sally (Carl) Minier of Montoursville. He was known as "grandpop" by Aaron's wife Kelly (Tamagno), and children Aiden, Cristian and Brennon.

He was predeceased by his parents, and by a brother, Thomas Snyder.

The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 24, 2012, at the Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville, with the Rev. Max L. Walters Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park. Friends will be received on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Hope Lodge, Fox Chase Cancer Center, 333 Cottman Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19111-2497.
