From John Harvey Treat's THE TREAT FAMILY: A Genealogy of Trott, Tratt, and Treat FOR FIFTEEN GENERATIONS, AND FOUR HUNDRED AND FIFTY YEARS IN ENGLAND AND AMERICA, Oxford Press, Salem Massachusetts, 1893:
"Alfred Treat, son of John Treat & Rebecca Page (they married 1824).
Alfred's Siblings: James Madison, Richard, Henry, Charlotte M., Julia born in Bucksport;
Nelson, Elizabeth, Rebecca, Jesse born in Bradford, Maine.
Alfred Enlisted May 6, 1861 in Co. E, 6 Reg't Maine Vol. Infantry; mustered July 15, 1861; promoted to be corporal April 5, 1863; was wounded at the Battle of Rappahannock Station, Va., Nov 7, 1862; was missing after the action of May 10, 1864, and probably killed then. His name is on the Solders' Monument at Bucksport."
