Evelyn is the mother of my best friend, Linda. Evelyn's son and Linda's brother, Doug, had battled brain cancer for over a decade and in early 1989, Linda was diagnosed with liver cancer. On Sept. 28, 1989, Linda lost her battle with cancer at age 42 but her brother struggled for another eight years before losing his battle with cancer.
Many times Evelyn expressed her guilt and grief over two dying children. She felt so helpless but she was always there for them. She struggled through life after Linda's death but died about six months after Doug's death. Doug was 46 years of age.
Evelyn was a very brave person and endured more pain than we can possibly know. Now she is with God and she will not suffer again.
