Dartmouth class of 1886.
Kelly, known as "Biff" while at Dartmouth, was the art editor of the '86 Aegis, sang in the Glee Club and Quartette, was commissary of the Swett Club, and was a member of Theta Delta Chi fraternity.
He married Lillian M Lee on July 9, 1896. They had two children, David (Rutgers '20, Harvard Law '26) and Dr William P Jr (Dartmouth '23, Columbia Med '26).
Kelly had a long career as an educator, serving as principal of Northwood Academy, teacher at Worcester Academy and South Hadley High School, superintendent in Hudson, MA, Attleboro, MA, and Meriden, CT, and lastly headmaster of Rutgers Preparatory School. He was an active member of the Class of 1886, serving variously as secretary, class agent, and treasurer after graduation.
