Odie was my tabby cat. She wondered over to our house in 1996 as a kitten, following her brother, Garfield. She decided right then where she wanted to live, and that was that. She moved in and soon had a litter of kittens of her own. She soon became a full time indoor cat. I will never forget the time she was having kittens and wanted my help. I was ignoring her so she came over and tried to pick me up by the neck to bring me over to her box to have her kittens. I helped her as best as I could and it made her day. She was one heck of a mother, that's for sure. I one time saw her jump on and attack my aunt's rottweiler for no apparent reason other than that she had kittens nearby.
We had Odie spayed after a few years of kittens. She remained living in the house but as she got older, she wanted to go outside. She came and went as she pleased. I moved away and got married but Odie remained at my parents' house. As she got older, she got grouchier, and wanted to be left alone most of the time. At the end of her life, she got very skinny and acted sick. She crawled under the bed and that is where she died. My dad buried her out in the backyard.
