For most her adult life Princess Leila commuted between homes in Greenwich, Connecticut, and Paris while suffering from depression, anorexia nervosa, and a drug habit that she was rumoured, despite her riches, to have stolen to support. A resident of the upscale Leonard Hotel over her final year, she was found dead in her suite, the victim of accumulated health problems and an apparent accidental barbiturate overdose.
