George Hardison mustered into Company I of the 23rd Kentucky Volunteer Infantry (Union) as a Private on 02 Jan 1864.

Privete Hardison was captured at New Hope Church, Georgia on 27 May 1864 and was sent to the notorious Confederate prison at Camp Sumpter, Andersonville, Georgia. He died of fever there three months later.
