An American Civil War veteran, Charles R. Frazier enlisted as a Private into Company I of the 23rd Kentucky Volunteer Infantry Regiment (Union) on 09 Nov 1861.

Private Frazier was captured by the Confederates on 27 May 1864 at Dallas, Georgia and was sent to the notorious Confederate prison at Camp Sumter, Andersonville, Georgia. He died while imprisoned there on 27 Oct 1864.
