29 OCT 1973 THE HOLTON RECORDER:

Earl E. Nuzman, was born October 9, 1889 in Soldier, and passed away in Holton on October 24, at the age of 84 years.

He was raised on a farm west of Soldier and had lived in Jackson county most of his life. For the past 26 years he had lived in Holton. He had been in failing health for the past several years.

Mr. Nuzman was a farmer, and also operated a cafe in Wetmore for many years. He was a member of the Soldier United Methodist church and the Odd Fellows Lodge.

He was married on December 14, 1916 to Faye Neiman. He is survived by his wife, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at the Mercer Funeral Home on October 27 at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Roy West officiated. Vocal music was furnished by Robert Brown. He was accompanied by Mrs. Larry Zwonitzer. Pallbearers were members of the Holton Odd Fellows Lodge, Walter Bohm, George Hess, Russell Mattox, Roscoe Byers, Harry Frazier and Henry Brockelman, Jr.

Interment was in the Soldier cemetery. The Holton Odd Fellows Lodge conducted graveside services.
