RUSSELL FRANKLIN BELL, JR. Entered into eternal rest on August 15, 2010; beloved husband of Sandra Bell and son of Edith K. Bell and the late Russell F. Bell, Sr. He is survived by his children Russell III (Leslie), Larry (Carmen), Jason and Dana; one brother Ronald (Pearl) and four grandchildren. On Thursday, August 19, viewing 6 to 8 p.m. at LATNEY''S CHAPEL, 3831 Georgia Ave. NW and on Friday, August 20 at Peoples Community Baptist Church, 31 Norwood Rd., Silver Spring, Maryland; viewing 9:30 a.m. funeral 11 a.m. Interment Fort Lincoln Cemetery.

Russell graduated from Collidge High School in Washington, DC, enlisted in the US Army, and after seeing combat in Vietnam returned to the Washington DC area, where he became a member of the United States Capitol Police Department. He finished his service with the Capitol Police, retiring as a Canine Handler, and afterwards became a Bailiff, working at the District Court of Maryland in Silver Spring Maryland. Russell was 61 years of age at the time of his death from Cancer.

Russell was one of the finest people I ever knew.
