William Frederick Fairley, 72 of 9901 Sagamore, Leawood, former general auditor for he Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, died Saturday at St. Luke's Hospital.
Mr. Fairley was general auditor at the bank from 1952 until he retired in 1971 and earlier was the assistant general auditor. He also had been branch auditor for the bank in Denver, Oklahoma City, and Omaha, Neb.
Mr. Fairley attended the University of Kansas and graduated from the Wentworth Military Academy, Lexington, Mo. He was the former president of the 25-Year Club at the bank.
He was a member of the Holton (Kan.) Presbyterian Church. He was born in Holton and lived in Holton and lived in this area since 1952.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Gertrude Fairley of the home, and a sister, Miss Mary Fairley, Kansas City.
Graveside services will be Wednesday at the Holton Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the Mount Moriah Chapel. The family suggests contributions to the Arthritis Foundation of Greater Kansas City or the American Heart Association.
