Mary Agnes Barton, age 86, of Broken Arrow passed from this life early Tuesday morning, January 12, 2010 at Broken Arrow Nursing Center. She was born on January 18, 1923 in Bloomington, IN to George S. and Fannie Lee (Smiley) Pate.

Mary was a loving mother, sister, and grandmother to her family. She received her education in the Hughes Springs, TX school system. Mary and Elbert T. Barton were united in marriage on October 19, 1940 in Linden, TX. She moved to Broken Arrow, OK in 1978 from Hughes Springs, TX. Mary worked at St. Francis Hospital as a Nurse's Aide for seven years until her retirement in 1985. She was a member of the Broken Arrow Church of Christ. Her hobbies included sewing, gardening, and quilting. Mary will be greatly missed by her loved ones and friends.

Mary is lovingly survived by her three daughters, Mary Elizabeth Hunter and her husband, Jerry, of Mt Vernon, TX, Fannie Mae Robison and her husband, Bill, of Royse City, TX, and Margarete M. Mosley and her husband, Robby, of Broken Arrow, OK; her brother, Harold Wayne Pate of Bloomington, IN; her sister, Doris Marie Manning of Arlington, TX; eight grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 14 great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, six brothers, and two sisters.

Funeral services for Mary will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 15, 2010 at Wright Funeral Home Chapel with Scott Keele officiating. A graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at Flat Creek Cemetery in Marietta, TX. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening, January 14, 2010 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
