Wendell W. Crooks, 52, an employee of White Farm Equipment, Charles City, died Wednesday (March 31, 1982) at the Charles City hospital.
Mr. Crooks was born in 1930 in Chickasaw County, the son of Loyal and Carol (Parson) Crooks. He was educated in Charles City schools and married Donna Vorhes in 1955 in Greene. A veteran of the Korean conflict, he was a member of the American Legion Post 174, Charles City, and Trinity United Methodist Church. Charles City.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Trinity United Methodist Church, Charles City, with the Rev. Vernon Sorensen officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Memory Gardens. Charles City, where military rites will be performed by the American Legion. Veterans of Foreign Wars and Veterans of World War I. Visitation will be after 1 p.m. today at Hauser Funeral Home. Charles City, and after 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Survivors include his wife. Donna: five daughters, Mrs. James iColeen) Merrill, Charles City: Carla Tidemonson. Nora Springs: Mrs. Raymond (Carol) Carson. Mason City, and Cindy Crooks and Chris Crooks, both at home; five grandchildren: and his father. Loyal Crooks. Nashua.
