Trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, Beckinsale appeared in classic comedies such as "Rising Damp," "Porridge," and "Lovers." He died in the middle of making the film "Bloomers." His two daughters Kate, who was in the 2001 film "Pearl Harbor," and Samantha, who had several roles in British TV, both followed their father into the acting profession.
