Bobby Joe Brents, 79, passed away peacefully on Dec 15, 2009, of a cerebral hemorrhage. He was born in Cleveland, Conway County, Arkansas on April 25, 1930, the son of James Luther and Nellie (Gooden) Brents. Bob's early years were ones of struggle and hardship living in the rural south during the great depression. During his time helping with the family farm and garden, he developed a love of gardening, hunting, and fishing that remained throughout his entire life. Several years later his family moved to Sapulpa, OK, where he met and married Elizabeth Ann Hobens on July 2, 1950. The next years of his life were filled with duties of a full time Marine, the growth of his family, and the embracing of the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. Following the family sealing in the Los Angles Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Bob served faithfully in many church callings ranging from Scoutmaster to Bishopric. His career as a Marine saw his family from Pennsylvania to Hawaii, with him serving additional duty in Japan and Vietnam. Following his honorable discharge after 27 years he promptly sighed up as a Marine Corps civil servant for many more years. Bob had a deep love for his family, with his greatest joys from his 4 daughters and their families including 19 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. He is survived by his wife "Betty", and daughters Viveca (Steve) Hutchinson, Leslie (Brian) Fryhoff, Connie (Glen) Ricks, and Suzanne (Rick) Shelton, his sister Juanita (Travis) Belk, sister Minnie Lou Brewer (Willie Joe) and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
