Esther Loomis Garner, 100, of Springfield died Wednesday, June 7, 2000, at the Illinois Presbyterian Home. She was born April 18, 1900, in Broadlands, the daughter of Orrin Datus and Elizabeth Garner Loomis. She married Claude O. Combs in 1922; he preceded her in death in 1968. She married Robert Garner in 1970; he preceded her in death in 1980. A stepson and two stepdaughters also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Garner served the Community Concert Series for 10 years as vice president and secretary. She was a charter member of the Springfield Symphony Guild and member of Christian Business and Professional Women's Council and Westminster Presbyterian Church, where she sang in the choir for more than 25 years.
Survivors: two daughters; a son; two stepsons; 15 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
Services: Boardman-Smith Funeral Chapel. Burial: Oak Ridge Cemetery.
