Aaron N. Holtman, 40, known as "Chef" to many, died unexpectedly, Thursday, June 21, 2012.
Born in Fort Walton Beach, Fla., before settling on the Peninsula in 1982, he was a York County firefighter with a passion for helping others and enjoyed cooking for his fellow brothers. He was also an avid sports fan and a pro at tailgating at NASCAR races.
Survivors include his children, Danielle, Cameron, and Kailyn Holtman; his mother, Florence A. Holtman and her husband Roy M. Kegley Jr.; his father, Lee D. Holtman and his wife, Kathy; his maternal grandmother, Florence Anna Trax; his brother, Randy Holtman; his sister, Cindy Holtman; two stepsisters, Michelle Jones and Missy Powers; his godchildren, Andrew and Alexis Holtman; mother of his children, Jennifer Holtman; and his companion, JoAnn Witt and her children, Amber, Kristen and Jacob.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 27, 2012, at St. Joseph Catholic Church by the Rev. Msgr. Walter Barrett. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday June 26, 2012, at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home. Arrangements by R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home.
