Teresa M. Polidore, formerly of West Chester

Teresa M. Polidore, 83, of Parkesburg, died after a brief illness on Oct. 18, 2012, surrounded by her family. Born in Philadelphia in 1929, she was the daughter of the late Adam and Mary McGuigan Metrules. She was preceded in death by her husband Natole "Nat" J. Polidore in 1987. Teresa is survived by her six children; Joseph R. and Joanne Barone of Fla., Natalie T. Thorpe and husband Jeffrey of Md., Teresa M. DeLeo and husband Stephen, Steven J. and Stella Sinopoli, Mary L. and husband Gregory Glauner and Tina M. Bonaldo and husband Victor, all of Pa. She is also survived by six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, her sister, Catherine Sullivan of Md. and sisters-in-law, Joan Metrules and Elvira Donia of Pa., Antonette Masucci and Joann Beard DeLiberali of N.J., as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Spanning many decades, Teresa's career in the culinary industry included banquet management for the Italian Social Club in W.C., where she was also a member of the Women's Auxiliary and the Junior Club. She spent over 18 years with ARA Food Services at W.C. State College and as the chef manager of The Agnes Irwin School in Rosemont, and, subsequently as a chef at the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, N.J. Over the years, Teresa generously donated her cooking talents and volunteer efforts to numerous organizations raising funds for St. Agnes Parish, the Italian Social Club and the Special Olympics. Once retired in 2008, Teresa became a member of the ACAC Fitness Club in West Chester where she delighted in meeting new people and creating treasured friendships. At her request, services for Teresa will be private and arrangements are being handled by D'Anjolell Memorial Homes, 392 Lancaster Avenue, Frazer, PA 19355-1804. Should friends desire, contributions may be made in Teresa's memory to Meals on Wheels at 510 East Barnard Street, Unit 100, in West Chester, PA 19382 or to Neighborhood Hospice Health, 400 East Marshall Street, in West Chester, PA 19380.
