Aug. 1763; Jacob, b. 9/16/1765; Susannah, b. 1767; John Jr., b. 1770. In battle of Point Pleasant under General Andrew Lewis, 10/10/1774. Rendered service as a scout, commanded a company of rangers on the frontier of West Virginia, 1778. Killed by Indians 6/11/1786, VA/WV, buried Grave Yard Run, near Baker's Station, Franklin District, Marshall County, WV. Listed in D.A.R. Patriot Index, Captain, VA & PA.
