Samuel Carahoof, who lives northeast of the city, and who is well-known to the residents of Bismarck and Burleigh county, died at his home of heart disease, at 1 o'clock Wednesday morning.
Mr. Carahoof was an old-timer on the Missouri slope, having come here in 1872. A tinner by trade, he established a tinshop here, and was afterward located at Washburn. For the last few years he has lived on his farm, about two miles northeast of the city.
Mr. Carahoof has suffered from heart trouble for some time, and his death, while sudden in one way was expected in another. He was in the city on usual business on the day before his death, and well as usual, and the sudden termination of his life was a surprise to his many friends. He was nearly 50 years of age, and old soldier and drew a pension of $12 per month. He leaves a wife and three children to whom the sympathy of everyone is extended.
