Martin Beebe, age 72 years, died at his home, 216 South Jefferson avenue at 3 o'clock yesterday morning. Death was due to an acute attack of appendicitis. The funeral services were conducted from the residence at 10:30 o'clock this morning and the interment was made in the Highland cemetery.

Son of Henry and Mehitable (Walker) Beebe.
The first marriage of Marcus was to Phebe Isora Hemingway on 5 Oct. 1856 at Hadley, Mich. She divorced him when he deserted during the Civil War.

During Civil War he enlisted as Marcus Beebe in Company K, 4th Regt Michigan Cavalry on 15 August 1862 for 3 years at Hadley, Mich. On a Descriptive List of Deserters dated 23 Feb. 1864, he is shown as deserted on battlefield 30 Dec. 1862 at Stones River.

On 6 May 1885, under the name of Martin Beebe, he married Mary Elizabeth Courtright Jarvis at Pittsburg, Crawford Co., Kansas.
