Son of Stephen and Sarah (Gallant) Beebe. Wife's name was Mary. They had four children: Hector, Ugenia, Ura and George.

Enlisted in Company B, 87th Indiana Infantry on August 6, 1862. Mustered out of Federal Service on June 10, 1865 in Washington DC.
