She is the widow of Thomas F. Hemphill. A resident here for more than 50 years, she was a member of the Thorndike Congregational Church. She was also a member of Josiah Drummond Chapter – OES, Harvest Moon Grange, fire department Ladies Auxiliary and the Thorndike Extension Service.
Surviving are three daughters, Edith Hemphill of Thorndike, Mrs. Ethel Gruther of St. Petersburg and Mrs. Thelma Whitehouse of Unity; sisters, Laila Winship of Unity and Pearl Walton of Gray; brother, Marshall Walton of Unity; four grandsons; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday at 2 pm at the Thorndike Congregational Church. The Rev. S. G. Hilyard of Fairfield will officiate. Burial will be in the Pond Cemetery in Unity.
