Dixmont – Mrs. Lavon L. Erskine, 78, Died Tuesday, October 8, 1974 at a Waterville Nursing home after a long illness. Born in Etna August 13, 1896, she was the daughter of Osceola and Sarah/Sadie (Cothran) Edminster. She had been a resident of Dixmont for the past 54 years.
She was a member and a past Ceres of Plymouth Grange.
She is survived by her husband, William, of Dixmont; five sons, Lawrence of Newport, Roger, Elton, James and Robert, all of Dixmont; one daughter, Mrs. Robert Winship (Esther) of Unity; 27 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and three nieces.
She was predeceased by her parents; two daughters, Pauline Erskine and Eunice (Erskine) Norris; and one sister, Gillian Cookson.
Funeral Services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at the Donald H. Shorey Chapel in Pittsfield where friends may call Thursday, 3 to 5 and 7 to 8 p.m.
