Patrick (nicknamed "Pete")and Mabel were married in 1898 in St. Cecilia's Church, Back Bay, where Patrick had served as an altar boy. He was 21; she was 19 when they were married.

Gertrude retired to South Yarmouth, Cape Cod. She was a very devout Catholic.

He taught Latin and Greek in high school, was a missionary priest, and served as a Chaplain during World War II. He was shipwrecked and miraculously rescued after 7 hours in a crowded lifeboat in the North Atlantic.
Gerald served 3 addition years as a Major in Iceland. After leaving the service, he became Rector of the First Redemptionist Church in Rochester, New York; then President of St. Mary's College. Lastly, he served as pastor of Our Lady of the Mount, a one priest parish on Lookout Mountain, Tennessee. Gerald died 24 March 1985 and is buried ion Old Calvary Cemetery, Roslindale, with other priests.
