Dick was a student at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst in the Class of 1967 and a well-liked resident of Baker House. He was a political science major, chairman of the Student Senate, was on the house council of his dormitory, member of the Lutheran Club, played intramural soccer and was on the Dean's List. Near the end of his senior year, three months before graduation, he was stricken with a brain infection and died shortly afterwards.
