Jean was born to Dr.. Rudolph Wagner Jones, Jr. and Dorothy Zimmerman Jones. She is also survived by her loving family: husband, Dr. Peter Osborne Holliday, III; two children, Dorothy Zimmerman Holliday and Peter Osborne Holliday, IV (Charlotte) and one grandson, Peter Osborne Holliday, V, known as "Behr." Jeanne also leaves behind her sisters of Macon, Suzanne Jones Harper (Buzz), Dr. Zoé Jones (Gabriel) and brother of Atlanta, Rudolph Wagner Jones, III (Anne) and their families along with many Holliday family members. -Mrs. Holliday graduated from Stratford Academy in 1972 and received her B.A. in Biology from Agnes Scott College in 1976. Her first occupation was with the Coca-Cola Company on North Avenue in Atlanta in the Quality Control Laboratory. She married Dr. Holliday in 1977 and moved to Winston-Salem, North Carolina for his seven-year residency in neurosurgery at the Wake Forest School of Medicine. During that time and before having children, Mrs. Holliday worked with the Medical Cancer Research and Atherosclerosis labs at the same institution of her husband's residency. Mrs. Holliday was a devoted wife and mother and desired to give back to her community through the sharing of their historic home and the restored heritage garden, which they often opened to the public to benefit charities. A member of Vineville Garden Club since 1984 when she and Dr. Holliday returned to Macon, Mrs. Holliday served as President of the Federated Garden Clubs of Macon from 2007 to 2009. Mrs. Holliday encouraged garden club activity because she saw gardening as scripture made manifest. Along with gardening, Mrs. Holliday had a passion for Bible study through Bible Study Fellowship International and was frequently a discussion leader throughout her 17 years of involvement with that organization. -Mrs. Holliday loved her church, First Presbyterian and was an active member of the altar guild. She was also involved as a member of The History Club of Macon, served as president of The Writers' Club of Macon, Intown Macon History Club, and architectural and decorative board member of the Garden Club of Georgia, Inc. Mrs. Holliday felt that her greatest accomplishment secondary to raising two wonderful children was the restoration with her husband of four properties: their home place and garden in the Historic District of Macon, an historic farm in Juliette, Georgia, their historic beachfront home on Sea Island, and their villa on the Island of Saint Barths, French West Indies.
