Elbert C. "Bill" Fellows, 66, died Monday at his home in Manhattan.

He was born August 27, 1926, in Scottsbluff, Neb., the son of George and Katherine (Hert) Fellows. He attended grade school and high school in Manhattan. He married Norma Burkett May 27, 1945, in Spokane, Wash. He and his wife lived most of their married life in Manhattan and surrounding areas.

He served in the Marine Corps during World War II. In February 1945, he participated with the Fifth Marine Division in the invasion of Iowa Jima. He received a Purple Heart for wounds received in action during this battle. He was active in the American Legion and kept in close contact with his Marine Corps friends and attended several National Marine Corp reunions. He enjoyed the outdoors and spent many hours fishing, hunting and camping with his family and friends. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Leona Kennedy.

He is survived by his wife of Manhattan; two sons and daughter-in-laws, Dick and Linda Fellows of Billings, and Will and Shanna Fellows of Portland; one daughter and son-in-law, Judi and Bill Mickel of Bonner; six grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, 1:30 p.m. at the Manhattan Bible Church, Manhattan. Interment will be at Meadowview Cemetery, Manhattan.
