Animated Cartoon Writer. He received fame as a renowned cartoon writer for Warner Brothers Looney Toons Classic Animation and Hanna-Barbera Animation. He worked for famed cartoon directors Isadore "Friz" Freleng and Tex Avery, but he did his most memorable work with legendary animator Chuck Jones. With Jones, Maltese helped to create some of the most popular characters of all-time, including Pepe Le Pew, Road Runner and Coyote, and Yosemite Sam. He later went on to help create classic television cartoons such as The Flintstones, Huckleberry Hound, and Quick-Draw McGraw. He wrote comic books published by Western Publishing, Born the son of Italian immigrants, he graduated from the National Academy of Design before relocating to California and beginning his career. He married and had one child.
