James H. Scott, a former Grosse Pointe Shores resident, entered eternal peace on Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at his home in St. Clair Shores. He was 75 years old.

James was a builder and developer most of his life. He was also the former owner of the Georgian Inn, Parkcrest Motel, and the L-Bow Room restaurants.

James enjoyed golfing and hunting and was the co-founder of Burk's Farm. He had been a member of Lochmoor Country Club since 1969 and the Boca Del Mar Country Club in Boca Raton, Florida. He was the past president of the St. John Hospital Men's Guild.

James is survived by his beloved wife, Evelyn; children, Larry (Michele) Scott, Cindy (Paul) Simon, Chris (Caprice) Scott and Kim (Ron) Marsh; and grandchildren, Ally and James Michael Scott, Michael (Jessica), Paul, Kristen, Alyssa and Patrick Simon, Michael Jushak, and Amanda, Nicholas and Chelsea Marsh.

He also is survived by his sisters, Margaret Ann Miller and Carol Higley; and his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Rosemary and Richard Tanner.
James' family greatly appreciated all of the devoted care he received from St. John Hospice.

Visitation: Saturday, May 10, 2008, from 5-9pm and Sunday, May 11, 2008, from 2-8pm with a Scripture Service at 7:00pm at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons, Inc. 36900 Schoenherr at Metro Parkway (16 Mile). In state Monday, May 12, 2008, 9:30am until Mass at 10:00am.

Funeral Mass: Monday, May 12, 2008, at Our Lady Star of the Sea, 476 Fairford, Grosse Pointe Woods - off Morningside between Cook Rd. at Vernier at 10:00 A.M.

Memorial donations may be made to The Capuchins, 1820 Mt. Elliott St., Detroit, MI 48207 or to St. Jude Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
