The first president of the Lincoln Highway system which goes from New York City to San Francisco.(1913). Also was president of the Packard motor Car Company and was on the USS Yosemite with Truman Handy Newberry which fought in the Spanish-American War and captured the SS Antonio Lopez on 28 June 1898.
