Margaret Hastings Slimp Buvinger, 84, was born March 13, 1922 in Cincinnati, OH to Oliver Frederick and Lois Jackman Hastings Slimp and passed away Thursday, March 23, 2006 at Bradford Village, Edmond.

On October 13, 1944 she married Wilson J. Buvinger in Cincinnati. The couple made Enid their home in 1952.

Margaret was elected to the Enid Board of Education in 1963 and served for 28 years. She was a member of Central Christian Church, she was active at the local, state and national levels in the Christian Church (Disciple of Christ). She served in many capacities of the State and National School Boards Association. Margaret was the managing director of the Tri-State Music Festival for 19 years and served on the Enid Phillips Symphony Board.

She is survived by six children, Bill, Mary, Anne, Sarah, Nancy and Lois.

Memorial services: Monday, at Central Christian Church. The Reverend John McLemore will officiate. Burial is in the Garden Chapel at Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Henninger-Allen Funeral Home.
