Wilma W. Cuddy, age 87, went to sleep peacefully on Monday, November 4, 2002. She was born to William and Winnie McBride on April 11, 1915 in Odin, Indiana. Her family moved to Colorado when she was very young and her childhood days were spent on Orchard Mesa.

On June 24, 1939, she and John V. Cuddy were married. He preceded her in death on February 8, 2001. Together they faced the daily challenges of operating their ranch north of Fruita. She worked as a cook for St. Mary's Hospital and Intermountain Junior Academy in Grand Junction, where she was known for her delicious cinnamon rolls.

She was a member of the Fruita Seventh Day Adventist Church and was active in church service for several years. She relocated to Roseburg, Oregon to be near her daughter. She lived at Riverview Terrace Assisted Living where she enjoyed making new friends and was known for her humor and wit.

She is survived by a son, Tom (wife Sondra) Cuddy of Mesa, AZ; daughter, Jonette (husband Bert) Reed of Roseburg, OR; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be at 11 am Tuesday, November 12, 2002 at the Fruita SDA Church with burial in New Elmwood Cemetery, Fruita. Visitation will be from 4 to 5 pm Monday at the McLean Funeral Home Chapel in Fruita. Contributions may be made in her name to ADRA International, 12501 Old Columbia Pike, Silver Springs, MA 20904.
