Artemas Johnson was a member of Company I, 28th Maine Infantry during the Civil War. He was wounded and sent home to die at his father Hiram Johnson's home in 1863 at age 27 years. I have been unable to locate any stone or family plot for Artemas.
Hiram lived on the Long Pond Road. This makes him either buried in the Long Pond Cemetery now destroyed or the Moulton Cemetery no longer with a headstone to mark his passing.
