Father James Cornelius Hahn OP., died on Saturday, November 8, 2008, after a prolonged illness. Born on July 4, 1937, to William Patrick Hahn and Adelaide Irene Olden, he professed a Dominican in 1958, and was ordained to the priesthood in 1964. He served in numerous ministries, including provincial secretary for the Eastern Dominican Province, parochial vicar, speech therapist, instructor in communications, theology, and homiletics, director of the Shrine of St. Jude and for many years as an itinerant preacher.
Reception of the body took place at St. Pius V church, 1909 S. Ashland Avenue, Chicago, Illinois, on Wednesday, November 12, at 9 am., followed by the Office of the Dead at 9.30 am., and the Mass of Christian Burial at 10.30.
