Actor. From 1943 until autumn 1944 he played at the Deutschen Theater in Berlin. After the World War II he has engagements in Düsseldorf and Frankfurt on Main. In the DEFA movie "Das kalte Herz" - "Heart of Stone" he personify Ezechiel next to Lutz Moik and Erwin Geschonneck which played the giant Hollaender-Michel. He is also rememberd as Ghost Toni in the film -Das Spukschloß im Spessart- beside Georg Thomalla, Hanne Wieder and Hubert von Meyerinck. Mostly he is remembered for the lead role Erwin Kasulke of the German detective series "Tatort". He was honour with the Federal Cross of Merit in Germany (Bundesverdienstkreuz). Paul Esser died on Tenerife.
