Robert "Bob" Harrington, 93, of Metter died Friday, January 25, 2013 at Cedar Plantation. He was born in Cambridge, Kansas, the son of the late Allen and Letha Hill Harrington. Bob was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Air Force. A retired watchmaker, he had studied his trade at Southern College of Watchmaking in Memphis, TN. He trained in Savannah at Friedman's and worked in sales and service at Sears in Ft. Pierce, FL. He was self-employed for 30 years moving to Cobbtown in 1971. After he and Nell married in 1984, he later moved to Metter.
He is a member of the Metter First Baptist Church, the VFW, American Legion and Royal Neighbors of America. Preceding him in death was his first wife, Mary Ellen Smith Harrington.

Survivors are his wife, Wynell Coursey Harrington of Metter; six daughters, Norma H. (Mike) Morrison of Roan Mountain, TN, Linda H. (Murphy) Ray of Rossville, Debra H. (Juan) Vallejo of Metter, Linda C. (Joey) Cook of Sylvania, Penny C. Olliff of Pooler and Lisa C. (Tway) Wells of Metter; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 11:00 AM, at the Metter First Baptist Church with Rev. Ervin Smith and Rev. Floyd Harrison officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in the Connors Cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the funeral service. Visitation will be Monday, 6:00-8:30 PM, at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Bob Adams, Randy Caraway, Gary Caraway, Rudy Smith, Sammy Smith, Joudon Smith and Chris Lanier. Honorary pallbearers will be Ed Bero, Flem Cliett, William George, Ernest Kight, J.D. Henry, Grayson Douglas and Al Larson.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital-Tribute Program, P.O. Box 1000 Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908 or Hispanic Mission of Metter First Baptist Church, 460 Preston St., Metter, GA 30439.
